Depression is a serious mental illness that can interfere with a person’s life. It is a real ailment that affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act.
Millions of people in the wrold are suffering from depression as we speak. But the general reaction towards it in Asian families (read Pashtun) is primitive at best. When it comes to their kids’ mental illness, most of the parents constantly live in the bubble of denial and it only worsens our situation.
Recently, we asked people on Twitter to share the how their parents react when they tell them that depressed:
As one can imagine, the responses were funny and familiar; but tragic too if you think about it.
