Manzoor Ahmad Pashteen, head of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), was arrested by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police in Kohat this morning.
News of Manzoor Pashteen’s arrest first broke on social media which further added that several of his friends had also been arrested by the police this morning.
In a video message, PTM central committee member Zubair Shah Agha warned that if Manzoor Pashteen and other PTM members are not released at the earliest today, PTM will protest worldwide against their illegal detention.
PashtoScoop contacted sources from the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement to confirm the news, who also confirmed that the PTM leader had been arrested by police on his way to Janikhel.
The hashtag #ReleaseManzoorPashteen demanding his release has quickly become one of the top trends on Twitter after the news of his arrest broke out.
