Shazia Ishaq, who hails from the small Chitrali town of Boni, has become the first ever female Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) from Malakand to hold office.
She had applied for the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and appeared for CSS 2020 examinations recently. After she passed her CSS exams, Shazia was appointed as an ASP, thus becoming the first female ASP from Chitral.
Shazia received her primary education from a Government School in her hometown Chitral. She then went to Peshawar for her higher education and graduated from Islamia College Peshawar. She has also won the National Science Competition Award in 2009.
After her appointment as the first female ASP from Chitral, Shazia quickly came into spotlight for being a trailblazer for women in her region. Talking to a local media outlet, Shazia also expressed her wish to to become ‘a beacon of hope’ to the women of Chitral.
She has won the appreciation of many on the internet who are congratulating her for her achievement and wishing her success. Talking about her achievements, Shazia said that hard work is the key to success and will never go in vain. She further shared that perseverance, dedication and steadfast commitment to one’s goals can pay dividends in achieving one’s goal.

The Federal Public Service Commission on Thursday had announced the results of the written examinations of the Central Superior Services (CSS) 2020. According to the statistical data shared by the commission, only 1.9 per cent of the candidates had passed the 2020 CSS exam.
The report further explained that, out of a total of 18,553 candidates who appeared in the exams, only 376 candidates passed. Ultimately, 364 candidates qualified after clearing the Viva Voce; with 266 candidates being male and 138 being female.
Shazia Ishaq, whose roll number is 37481, has been placed at 199 spot in the list shared by the Federal Public Service Commission.
